I hope that some of your members may be able to make it along to help out with this worthy cause.
The 2002-‘03 fire season has been a particularly trying time for the entire Central and North Midlands Districts of Western Australia.
The Eneabba Community has been especially affected by the serious nature of the burns injuries to two young men involved in a farm fire on the 10th of December.
The immediate and unselfish response to assist the families involved and those affected by the incident is an absolute credit to the local community.
This assistance came in many forms, both physically and financially, to help ease the difficult time.
In the time since the fire there has been a good deal of discussion of holding a fundraising event to assist the affected families with the ongoing expenses resulting from the serious nature of the injuries.
The Eneabba Progress Association and the Eneabba Recreation & Sporting Club have agreed to jointly host a Country Music Concert, titled “Country Comfort” The Dunn and Mills Families Benefit.
Featured artists will include Magnificent Seven, Bad Hearts and Gus McKay with Dave Prior as compere.
The two Committees will host this multi attraction evening on the 12th of April at the Eneabba Recreational Grounds.
As always when hosting such an event the challenge is always to be able to get enough people attending.
We would welcome any exposure that you felt suitable to promote our event and help us to help these families.
To add to the fundraising potential of this event the organizing committee is hopeful of gaining goods to be auctioned of by a professional Auctioneer. Such goods have included signed Akubras, posters, CDs and clothing.
All donations made through Eneabba Progress Association will be used to both ensure the success of and increase the funds raised at the 12th of April event.
