REQUEST FOR
SPONSORSHIP and/or DONATIONS
“Harvey Dickson’s Blackwood River
Country Music inc.”
would like to present to the community our 2nd annual event incorporating as many organizations as possible to offer practical “Advice and Help” on the range of Health and Financial Assistance.
This is too often unknown or inaccessible to the people who actually need these services, often ultimately leading to disastrous outcomes, and affecting many lives.
Our vision is to have a fun filled day with:
Displays, activities and entertainment complimenting free, practical and helpful information booths.
Culminating in a concert to end the day with a positive happy and relaxed atmosphere.
Who are
we????? How did we evolve!!!
We are a group of ordinary people who want to make a
difference.
Harvey & Rose Dickson’s farm, 5ks North of Boyup Brook, in the Southwest of Western Australia has
for many years been the place to enjoy life, for most of us, working as volunteers and enjoying it.
Richard, Harvey & Rose have operated the “Harvey Dickson’s Country Music Centre” for over 25 years.
They built indoor and outdoor unique venues on their property. These are the most amazing venues in the country, a fact that can be attested to by an 800 capacity room full of music fans in the ‘shed’ and thousands in the outdoor venues. Also by many famous performers, who love this place.
Richard, Harvey & Rose hold two major events each year:
* September; features Footy on the big screen & the Telstra Road to Tamworth Heat.
* October; features the W.A State Rodeo Finals and Music.
However, due to the workload of organizing events, for most of the year the venues remain unused.
For this reason they offered the use of the venues to a group of interested people for a nominal hire.
We accepted
the offer.
Harvey Dickson is a well known identity, therefore, with his permission, it was agreed to make Harvey the “namesake” added to this, the property is situated on the beautiful Blackwood River, therefore; “Harvey Dickson’s Blackwood River Country Music Incorporated” was established.
This is a non profit organisation, run by a committee and members derived from all walks of local life, sharing common goals:
· Recognising & celebrating local heroes through tributes with Activities & Entertainment.
· Providing locals access to entertainment, without distance disadvantages.
· Benefiting the Community & Surrounding Rural Areas, by bringing Tourism to the region
· Whilst Promoting Country Music and sharing the wholesome “Country Lifestyle” with as many people as possible, by bringing the city to the country.
To achieve our goals of helping the Local Community & surrounding areas, we need help ourselves.
At our meetings we discuss what the members feel would be rewarding events for the community. After the success of our inaugural event in January 2009 we have scheduled our 2nd annual event of “HELPING people in NEED” for 20th March 2010
The range of information we would like to bring to the event would be of benefit to ……Veterans, Defence and Military personnel, Police, Emergency Service Personnel, either serving, retired or family of deceased persons, Business & Townsfolk and Farming families in Rural & Remote areas.
As it covers a huge range of problems arising from these types of work & lifestyles, there would be many types of services available to benefit everyone within the community and surrounding areas.
The following list contains some of the information assistance we would like to provide:
A Large range of Health issues, Legal & Financial Assistance, Disability Products, Aged Care, Drug & Alcohol Awareness, Depression, Suicide, Victim Support, and Youth.
ANY SUGGESTIONS WELCOMED
We are currently in discussion with a number of these facilities and getting positive feedback from them with regard to their involvement.
WE ARE
ASKING FOR YOUR ASSISSTANCE--- IN ANY WAY YOU CAN HELP.
e.g.: financial, products, services, information, displays, contacts etc.
We understand that you probably receive numerous requests for sponsorship every week, however, we feel our event is worthy of consideration, due to the large volume of people that can benefit from such an event, whilst enjoying the often overlooked, importance in rural communities, of socializing and networking opportunities.
The following is a list of the requirements for the proposed event.
Sponsorship or Donations are required to provide this event to the Community at a modest fee,
so that everyone is able to access the information that will be available, and to enjoy the day.
